Alternative income generating activities
2018 to present
EnviroSynergy is working with FoProBiM in Haiti to create environmentally friendly alternative livelihoods in coastal communities. This includes the development of apiculture, breadfruit flour, and kayaking for eco-tourism. Eight communities are participating in these activities in the northeast including the villages of Bord de Mer Llimonade, Madras, Caracol, Jacquezyl, Phaeton, Garde Saline, Ft. Liberte, and Derac. Four hundred local inhabitants are participating in classes in order to undertake these activities and to better manage their resources. They are also participating in environmental awareness classes for which educational materials are being prepared.

On the evening of Saturday, November 6, 2010 friends of Haiti and EnviroSynergy hosted the well attended, culturally rich fundraiser: “An Evening of Art, Music & Conversation in Support of Haitian Recovery” to generate resources for immediate use in the rebuilding of a school in the hillside village of Kenscoff above Port-au-Prince, Haiti destroyed after the January, 2010 earthquake. $6,645.18 was raised through donations, art sales & silent auction bids to the “Ecole St. Philomene School”. Thank you to our generous supporters and participants who, without hesitation, came forward to address & embrace this cause.

With the Haiti earthquake on January 12, 2010 EnviroSynergy is focusing most of its resources on post-earthquake recovery efforts and especially on capacity building, education, environmental rehabilitation, and the development of alternative income generating activities.
